The Environment Club of DBMS English School organised the "Bishwadeep Sarkar Memorial Environment Quiz - 2013" at school auditorium. This is an annual event organised by the Eco-Club of DBMS English School in memory of their student Bishwadeep Sarkar.
The quiz aims to develop awareness about conserving and preserving the environment in order to leave a better legacy behind for the future generations.
A total of 12 reputed schools of Jamshedpur of Std. VIII to X had participated in the quiz. Five best teams (each team consisting of two students) qualified for the stage rounds KSMS, Hill Top, Church School, loyola School and Rajendra Vidyalaya.
Since the quiz was organised by the Eco Club members of the DBMS. English School, the host school did not participate in the quiz.
The quiz was of six rounds based on Environment facts, videos, pictures and visual rounds and it was well-organised by the Club Members. At the end of each round the audience was also asked questions. The participating teams showed their intellect and knowledge and eventually battled out for the winning position.
loyola School secured the first position with 138 points led by Akshit Akhoury and Tanuj Guha, Rajendra Vidyalaya secured the 2nd Position participants were Sanidhya Kumar and Sanket Mandal Hill Top School secured the 3rd Position with 61 points. Names of the Participants are Rajarshi Mukherjee and Kishan Kumar. The welcome speech was given by M Abhishek, the President of the Eco Club and vote of thanks was proposed by Rajani Shekhar, principal, DBMS English School.
