IT major Wipro has said that it is committed to developing its centre located in the Infocity SEZ. This has been stated by the company’s IT Business and Executive Director TK Kurien in a letter to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
The Wipro’s response followed Patnaik's letter to company Chairman Azim Premji seeking his intervention to expedite the project work.
Kurien in his letter said, “While we did face initial setbacks, we are committed to developing and investing in the Bhubaneswar Development Centre in the Infocity SEZ.”
Kurien said he has asked his team to prioritise and complete the construction of the first G+10 block at the site to house the next new projects and he would keep the government informed on the developments. The Wipro had signed an MoU with the State Government in 2004 for setting up of a software development and BPO service centre in Bhubaneswar.
