ACP for UP Govt docs; to get 4 promotions in 24 yrs

A decision that can boost the morale of Government doctors the State Government has announced implementation of Assured Career Promotion (ACP), thus assuring four promotions in 24 years for their service.

The decision was taken in the State Cabinet that met here on Wednesday. Now the Government doctors would get four promotions in 24 years of their service starting from the fourth year of their service.

The general State employees get three promotions in their service, — first in the tenth year, second in the 16th year of service and the third at 26th year. In comparison to this Government doctors will get their first promotion in fourth year with a grade of Rs6,600, second in 11th year (grade Rs7,600), third in 17th year (grade Rs8,700) and the last in 24th year (grade Rs8,900).

Principal Secretary Finance Rahul Bhatnagar said that the decision would benefit 11,265 doctors in the State and for this Fovernment will have to bear additional burden of Rs72 crores. In another decision the State Cabinet has allowed inter-district movement of 108 Samajwadi ambulance carrying sick patients from one hospital to another outside the parent district. Government spokesman said that in many cases patients needed immediate transfer to specialised hospital outside district.
