The Ghaziabad District Administration is prepared for the coming parliamentary election to be held on April 10, stated Ghaziabad district magistrate (DM) SVS Ranga Rao on Wednesday. Speaking at a Press conference, the DM said with the announcement of the poll schedules, the Model Code of Conduct has come into force.
All the hoardings of the politicians are being removed. An expenditure being incurred on them would be realised from the concern political parties. With the 7,500-strong civil workforce, the district administration will make 2,225 polling booths in 578 polling stations.
“At present, the Ghaziabad parliamentary constituency consisting of five Assembly seats — loni, Murad Nagar, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, and Dhaulana — has 23,45,599 voters. Of which, 13,24,690 voters are male and 10,18,651 are female,” said the DM.
“We have 15 flying squads to inspect the budgetary expenses of the candidates in each Assembly constituency. Till the nominations are filed, the expenditure will be added in the party’s name and a copy would be sent to the Election Commission,” added the DM.
“A convoy of three vehicles would be allowed to each election contestant. The speech of the candidates would be video-recorded. Hate speech would be a violation of the Code. No personal comments should be made. No premises of a religious place would be used for public address. No bill will be allowed to paste on private buildings,” the DM added.
