Defeated students damage A'garh college assets

Defeated student leaders of Gopabandhu Science College here went berserk and ransacked the college office, staff common room and the corridor’s decoration on Monday afternoon after the results were out.

The Principal left the college after the poll results were declared at about 4.30 pm. However, some irate student leaders broke two computers, two ACs, a lCD TV, damaged the name plate of the Principal, besides breaking flower vessels and glass windows. The same students also threw stones at the house of lecturer Harekrushna Parida and threatened his wife and children with abusive words. Parida lodged an FIR with the Athagarh police station. When contacted, Principal Harapriya Samantaray refused to comment.
