Governor of Uttarakhand, Dr Aziz Qureshi will take the oath of office as additional governor of Uttar Pradesh, here at lucknow on coming Monday evening. He will replace Bl Joshi till the National Democratic Alliance found some permanent leader for the job.
According to an official communiqué, Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court, Dr D Y Chandrachud will administer Oath of office to Dr Qureshi in Gandhi Sabhagar of Raj Bhawan at 6pm on Monday. Dr Qureshi will arrive at Amausi Airport on Monday afternoon.
It may be mentioned that Governor of Uttarakhand, Dr Aziz Qureshi has been given additional charge of Uttar Pradesh following resignation of Governor B l Joshi after a nudge from the Centre to some Governors appointed by the previous UPA government to quit. The tenure of Joshi had expired a few months ago and he was sworn in again for another term.
Meanwhile outgoing UP Governor B l Joshi will leave for Jaipur on the morning of coming Monday. He will be given ‘Guard of Honour’ by Army before his departure, official said.
