Khuntuni IIC held for taking Rs30K bribe

The Vigilance sleuths on Thursday arrested Inspector-in-Charge of Khuntuni police station Nirod Kumar Mohanty for taking bribe of Rs30,000 for deleting name of an accused from a chargesheet.

 Mohanty was caught red-handed in the Khuntuni PS premises while taking the bribe from Brahmananda Sahoo of village Sankarpur under Dhenkanal district’s Sadar police station.

 In another case, Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday had arrested Nayagarh district’s Sarankul police station ASI Sasikanta Satpathy for taking bribe of Rs2,000 from one Baikunthanath Mohapatra of Panchirida Manapur village under the PS for submitting a chargesheet. The Vigilance officials caught Satpathy red-handed while he was accepting the bribe from Mohapatra at the Saranakul Market.
