Many areas in Doon face power cuts after rainfall

After experiencing fresh rainfall, several areas of the capital city also witnessed power cut on Thursday. The testing of lines and tightening of lose connection were went off in the entire day besides testing of lines were carried in all division of the capital city till late in the evening.

Since there was no supply of electricity was reported from Kalagarh hydro power project on Thursday, the gap between the demand and supply has widened further. However, department officials claimed electricity is being procured everyday in order to ensure the disruption free electricity to the

consumers. Meanwhile, few localities also faced the brunt of low voltage. While talking to The Pioneer, Madhusudan, an official spokesman, UPCl told The Pioneer told that UPCl Managing Director SS Yadav has given stern instructions to lineman for rectifying the errors at earliest in order to avoid inconvenience to the consumers. After expressing his concern that lines are normally damaged or loses is circuit breaks during rough weather, Madhusudan informed that tightening of lines is the regular feature in the department.

He also claimed that the electricity supply was resumed in all the affected areas of the State. He told that the department is continuously procuring electricity in order to supply disruption free electricity to consumers.
