The schoolchildren gathered at Maharaj Bada to run for unity and integrity of the country on Friday. The education department had organised the Run for Unity on the birth anniversary of the iron man, Sardar Ballabhbhai Patel. But the children and education department forgot former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her death anniversary falling the same day.
A rally was taken out from the Kiddy’s Corner school which was addressed by Collector P Narhari. He also participated in the rally. The children of Gorkhi Higher Secondary School ran at Maharaj Bada.
Students of Gwalior Glory Higher Secondary School also participated in the run for unity. An easy competition was also organized in the schools. A rally led by vice-chancellor of Jiwaji University Prof. Sangeeta Shukla and registrar was taken out in the university campus. The rally was conducted by Shanti Dev Sisodia. The rally ended at Galav Auditorium where they took the oath of national unity and integrity.
At Govern-ment offices, school and colleges the oath of national unity was taken. The divisional commissioner KK Khare administered the oath of national unity in Moti Mahal and the Collector administered oath in the collectorate.
The Municipal Corporation Commissioner Ajay Gupta administered the oath to the MCG officers and employees.
The DEO Mohar Singh Sikarwar administered the oath in the district panchayat office. The Congress party remembered Indira Gandhi on her death anniversary in the Congress office. In the Congress office, the Congressmen took the oath of national unity and integrity.
