A real-time dashboard aptly named Performance Assessment Dashboard was formally inaugurated by TK Basak, ED(I/c) on January 21 in the Mair Control Room in the presence of Supriyodhar, ED(PR), SK Dhargupta, GM(T), KK Jain, GM(TS) and other senior officers from various functions. It is jointly developed by process and IS teams of Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex with conceptual guidance from RHQ Delhi.
This dashboard — displayed on a large television screen above the OHCU panel in MCR — is expected to sensitise the operation teams in the control room on the effect of various parameters collected in real time, to start with, from Once through Hydro Cracker Unit (OHCU).
This concept of dashboard is divided into three sections: performance pad, energy pad and critical parameters pad. Performance pad displays overall margin for OHCU. Margin is calculated at real time basis based on hourly and eight-hourly average data which can guide operation/process persons for timely manipulating product pattern for maximising the profit.
Energy pad displays furnace stack temperature, furnace excess oxygen, furnace efficiency, net steam consumption, flare losses, PRT opening and hydrogen going to off gas along with their design/desired values. Based on desired and actual values net gain/losses are calculated and displayed. This will help operation/process to take timely action for reducing the losses. The critical parameters pad displays critical parameters along with the design/desired values. Some of the critical parameters include gas to oil ratio, conversion and feed processed per kg of catalyst etc. This shall help in improving the unit operation. The strategic inputs were provided by technical and IS teams at RHQ and the execution including interface for collecting data from RTDBMS and continuous refresh has been developed by Panipat TS & IS teams. This marks a new beginning in how the data will be presented in times to come for operational efficacy in a working in the oil industry.
