bezubaan ishq
Staring: Mugdha Godse, Sneha Ullal, Nishant Malkani
Rated: 2/10
It is good to see new talent showcase their work in Bollywood. But there has to be some sense to the kind of movies they bring in the name of cinema. Jashwant Gangnani, debut writer-director of Bezubaan Ishq, may have had a great love story to tell, but he forgot that this is the 21st century and the audience doesn’t really want to see such archaic view-point and that too from a doctor who says that since there is no known cure for Intermittent Explosive Disorder, the best solution for the family is to get the girl married off as there is a great difference between a married woman and single woman’s behaviour. One is sure that most doctors in real life will cringe in their seats if they hear this prognosis.
Even as one gets over this rather bizarre solution, one has to sit through some of the worst performance in recent times. It is a good thing that Nishant Malkani, who plays the lead protagonist, has not been given too many dialogues to say in the movie. Sitting through his pathetic emoting through expressions is bad enough.
Then of course, there is the factor that the supporting cast appears and disappears at regular intervals and speak with an accent which doesn’t make sense.
Since it is a Bollywood love story, the end is predictable which makes the entire drama leading to the climax tiresome.
