Acting on a disproportionate assets case, Vigilance police on Tuesday simultaneously searched houses and office room of Aska Cooperative Central Bank Service Secretary Pramod Kumar Swain and detected movable and immovable assets worth Rs31,44,300 in his name and his family members’ names.
Swain’s residential house at Khandadeuli village under Ganjam district’s Aska police station and his office chamber at Nuagaon were searched on the strength of a search warrant, an official release informed.
The detected assets include building at Khandadeuli worth Rs16 lakh, five acres of agriculture land worth Rs5.35 lakh, household articles and gold ornaments worth Rs3.34 crore and bank and insurance deposits of Rs6.30 lakh.
The release stated that Swain entered into Cooperative service in the year 1990 as NMR and later on, he was promoted to the rank of Cadre Service Cooperative Society Secretary under the Aska Central Cooperative Bank. He has already incurred expenditure of about Rs3 lakhs towards education of his children, it added.
