'Declare October 21 as Azad Hind Divas'

Tamil leader and national president of Netaji Movement Vaiko and Netaji Janma Mati Jatra convenor and Utkala Bikasha Juba Parisada president Debiprasad Prusti have urged that October 21 be celebrated as Azad Hind Divas in India.

Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose had formed the Indian provisional Government, known as the Azad Hind Government, in Singapore on October 21, 1943. Azad Hind Government was headed by Netaji Subhas Bose.

He had taken oath as Prime Minister and inducted Ministers including Captain laxmi Sehgal as a Minister. 10 countries including Japan, Germany, Italy, Croatia, Indonesia and Burma etc had given recognition to the Azad Hind Government.

Vaiko hailed Bose as a great leader and thanked Mamata Banerjee Government in West Bengal for declassifying Bose’s files. Prusti in his speech expressed his solidarity for the Netaji Movement all over the country.
