Step up verification of migrants, cops told

The State Finance Minister and MlA from Haldwani Assembly constituency, Indira Hridayesh  has expressed concern over increasing cases of crimes, including chain snatching , theft and the likes  in the region. She cautioned Naintal district police personnel against laxity. She also emphasised on the need to have proper verification of the migrants, saying that the verification  of migrants is not being done seriously.

 She asserted that in case two or more cases of crimes are reported from a particular police station area, the respective station house officer (SHO) will be transferred. Inefficient police officials will not be posted  for important duties, she further said.

The women and the senior citizens mostly are facing the heat of things , added the Minister. She has convened a meeting on Saturday to take stock of things in the district.

Among others senior district police officials, including DIG Kumaon range, SSP Nainital and other senior officials of  the Nainital district police, are expected to take part in the meeting.
