The upcoming comedy television series ‘Sumit Sambhal lega’ is all set to be launched on television screens.
Actors Manashi Parekh Gohil who plays the character of Maya and Vikram Kochhar who plays the role of Rajneesh were in Bhopal here on Tuesday to promote the show.
Notably, Sumit Sambhal lega follows the story of a Punjabi family, and stars seasoned actor Namit Das as the protagonist Sumit Walia. Sumit is a sports journalist who unwillingly finds himself in a constant tug-of-war between his wife, Maya (Manasi) and his mother Dolly.
While in a candid talk with the media persons, Manasi Parekh Gohil said, “Maya, my character, is a homemaker with two kids who constantly has lots of things up her sleeves. Maya believes that marriage is an institution in which one person is always right and the other person is the husband .This show throws light on marriage and its ups and downs brilliantly. I relate to Maya because even though I don’t have kids yet, I understand her position as a wife and a daughter in law.”
Popular veteran actress, Bharati Achrekar will be seen essaying the role of Dolly Walia Sumit’s nosy and interfering mother. While Vikram Kochar will be seen as Rajneesh Walia, Sumit’s insecure older brother.
Adding about his role, Vikram Kochhar said, “Playing Rajneesh Walia has been a wonderful experience but it came with its own set of challenges. Not only did I have to play the role of a jealous older brother but also adapt to the original characters of Robert from the original series. I hope the audiences love what I have done to the show”
For the direction team, StarPlus brought together not one but three extremely distinguished personalities to direct the show. The series was set up by critically acclaimed Filmmaker Shashant Shah Deven Bhojani and Parmeet Sethi, who have also directed some of the episodes.
Writing is the single most important element of a sitcom and Star Plus has taken a major step in this direction with the introduction of a Writer’s Room. Heading the Writer’s Room is script consultant Rajesh Devraj who is working with acclaimed writers Arshad Sayyed, Sumit Roy and Chirag Mahabal.
