launched to provide affordable housing and keeping a check on unauthorised colonies, Haryana Government’s ‘Deen Dayal Jan Awas Yojna’ (DDJAY) has received 39 applications for the grant of licences for over 342.03 acres of land in eight districts of the State.
Under the scheme, licences are given for the construction of dwelling units in low and medium potential towns of the State.
“The applications received are being examined and, once the licences are granted, the state would be able to provide shelter to more than one lakh persons in about 24,000 dwelling units,” said a spokesman of the Haryana government.
Under DDJAY, all projects would be required to be necessarily completed within seven years from the date of grant of licence which shuts the door on uncertainty and rules out endless wait for the dream home, the spokesman added.
Haryana Town and Country Planning Department had in April notified the affordable plotted housing policy 2016 for low and medium potential towns—DDJAY —to achieve the goal of houses for all.
