Child labour: Search ops in bangle, firecracker units

Home and Jail Minister Babulal Gaur has said that the police will conduct search operations in bangle, bags and firecracker factories. If child labourers are found in the factories, they would be rescued and rehabilitated and penal action will be taken against the persons who subjected them to this.

Gaur stated this during meeting with child labourers rescued at a child welfare society, Nizamuddin Colony here on Wednesday. SP Railway Avdhesh Goswami and the police team who rescued the children from clutches of bangles manufacturer Naseem were also present on the occasion.

Gaur directed for strict action against the culprit for subjecting innocent children of 8 to 12 years to do work of fitting gems in bangles for 15-17 hours daily. After seeing marks of burning with hot rod on the necks and hands of the children, Gaur said that subjecting the children to hazardous work with danger of getting burned continuously and not providing them fair meal and sleep cannot be forgiven. Police will search the factories in the state where children are employed. He said that labour Department will also be involved in this. Gaur directed for proper rehabilitation of rescued children. lauding concerning police team, he directed to give them letters of commendation.

SP Railway Goswami informed that 12 children have been rescued from clutches of Naseem of Bhopal. Naseem had brought these children from villages of Bihar’s Araria district assuring their poor parents that that the children would be educated.
