Failed in exam, DPS student commits suicide

Having failed to clear two subjects in the Class XI examination, a student of Delhi Public School (DPS) committed suicide by hanging from a slide in the park, right in front of his house early on Tuesday morning.

The incident was reported in the Red Square Colony, situated on Hoshangabad road under Misrod police station area.

According to the police Adityaman Singh (16) was found hanging in the morning and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.

In the morning when father of the deceased veterinarian Dr Mahendra Singh Chouhan found the deceased missing from his room he started searching and found him hanging in a park. Police were informed after the deceased was found hanging and on the receipt of the information a police team reached the spot and started investigation.

SHO of Misrod Kunwar Singh Mukati said that the results were out on Monday and the deceased was in depression. His father remained with him for the whole day and was with him till 3 o’clock in the night after which the deceased told his father that he could handle the situation and should go to sleep and his father went to sleep but when he checked at around 6 am the deceased was found missing and later found hanging.

On the request of the family members, the post mortem was conducted and the body was handed over to the family members after the preliminary investigation, he added.

The deceased was good at singing and used to take tuition in music. He had formed a band and had performed at various occasions in different events. The deceased was declared failed in the examinations of Mathematics and Chemistry.

Family sources said that the last rites would be held on Wednesday, as his elder sister who works in Pune could reach home late in the evening.
