Ending anxious wait of parents and students, the results of Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and Indian School Certificate (ISC) boards were declared on Friday. The top position in class XII results among the city schools were shared by Kushagra Goyal, Archit Jugran both of Brightlands School and Japneet Kaur Saluja of Welham Girls’ School.
Archit got perfect 100 in Mathematics and computers and received 99, 97 and 95 marks respectively in Physics, English and Chemistry. His classmate, Kushagra got 100 marks in Computers, 99 in Physics, 98 each in Chemistry, mathematics and English. Nisha Goyal a proud mother of Kushagra and Deputy Manager in New India Assurance Company said that her son prefers studying during night and many a times she had ask him to take sleep.
A beaming Archit attributed his success to his parents and teachers and shared his dream of becoming a computer engineer. Garvita Arora with an aggregate of 96.25 percent marks was topper in commerce stream. She said that she wants to do B Com (honors) from Delhi University (DU) and her final aim is to crack civil services examination.
With an impressive percentage of 98 Shubhankar Seth did justice to his status of state topper in Class X examination in the year 2014. Recipient of National Fellowship in Basic Sciences under the KVPY Programme 2015, initiated by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and implemented by the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, Shubhankar is son of Inspector General Police (headquarters), Deepam Seth.
With a percentage of of 98.6, Pragun Ahuja of Brightlands school top scored in class X examinations. He got an impressive 100 marks both in Mathematics and Computers. Pragun is the son of famous Surgeon, Dr Sandeep Ahuja and Gynecologist Reena Ahuja and he said that he wanted to become an engineer. Interestingly Pragun’s elder sisters, Sana and Riya also did their parents proud when they top scored in school in the years 2007 and 2011.
The good performance of the students enthused Jyotsna Brar, the Principal of Welham Girls School who is retiring school on May 07, after heading the school for 16 years. A visibly moved Brar said that she is extremely proud of the excellent performance of the students, who are not just good in academics but excel in games and a myriad co-curricular activities as well. She said that in class XII a total of 80 students who appeared for the examination and out of them 59 girls have attained aggregate scores above 90 percent with the score of 29 girls were above 95. In class x of same school Jaya Kedia topped her class with an aggregate score of 97.4 percent.
In Saint Joseph’s Academy, Abhiti Mishra with a percentage of 97.2 top scored the class X examination while Savinay Sharma got 96.6 percent marks. The school claimed that out of total 265 candidates 79 got more than 90 percent marks. In Brooklyn school, Vipul Saklani secured 93 percent in class XII emanation to emerge as the School Topper. In class X examination Simran Gupta, Aman Chaurasia and Ishant Rana were the School Toppers by securing 94, 93 and 92 percentages respectively.
In Unison world school, Anushka Rathi with a score of 95.80 percent top scored the class X examination while in Anwesha Kedia with 96 percent got first position in class XII humanities stream. The toper in Commerce stream in the school was Pragya Agrawal while Kajal Gupta came first in Science stream.
The CISCE announced the result at least two weeks earlier than normal date due to the fact that it employed new live Ink Character Recognition (lICR) technology for the first time for evaluation of answer sheets. It reduces the time required for the tabulation and compilation of results.
