A joint eviction team consisting of officials from the BDA, the BMC and the Commissionerate Police on Saturday demolished unauthorised construction over Government plot no 1174 in Mouza-Gobinda Prasad under the laxmisagar police station here.
During the eviction drive, an RCC-roofed shop was demolished, as a result of which 1,540 sqft of valuable Government land was freed from encroachment. The team also razed an AC-sheeted barber shop.
One Rabi Narayan Puhan had constructed the unauthorised house over the plot and opened a travel agency there.
An excavator from the BMC was engaged for the eviction drive.
BDA Enforcement Officer Pramod Kumar Patro, BDA Enforcement Additional Commissioner-cum-Member BS Chayani, liasioning Officer Subhransu Sekhar Mohanty, Zone ACP AK Mishra and laxmisagar PS IIC Bharat Chandra Sahoo were present.
