Infrared monitoring system at MECON

Saturday, 30 April 2016 | PNS | Ranchi

MECON ltd has developed infrared camera based ladle condition monitoring system. The present practice in steel plants is mainly through the observation of hot spot with naked eyes which fails to take precaution long before a critical situation occurs. The ladle breakout is a dangerous event which involves a potential risk of personal injuries and loss of life. The ladle breakout also involves equipment damage and loss of production. The most convenient method of estimating the refractory life of ladle lining is from temperature distribution monitoring of the cold side of container shell with the help of infrared camera.
