SBI opens first 'Intouch' branch in State

One can now get a debit card within 10 minutes of opening an account in the country’s largest banking and financial services company i.e. State Bank of India here.

SBI Chief General Manager, Jharkhand, Ajit Sood inaugurated the state’s first ‘SBI Intouch’ branch on Tuesday at Doranda in Ranchi. “Global IT services company Accenture has helped us to design the branch completely. Starting from the layouts, back end operations of these digital services, integration of all banking processes as well as training of employees and support for the ongoing operations has been designed by Accenture. Interestingly, now remote experts would also be instantly available to consult you via video conferencing,” said Sood.

The bank has planned to open five more branches in the state with two branches coming up soon at lalpur and Kanke and a branch each at Sakchi, Bishtupur and Adityapur in Jamshedpur by February end.

These branches would be empowered with interactive lCDs mounted on walls to help customers to plan out their financial plans using SBI’s swift and prompt assistance. Account Opening Kiosk (AOK), Debit Card Printing Kiosk (DCPK), Multi-Function Kiosk (MFK), Smart Table, Interactive Dream Wall, Digital Signature, Remote Expert Chamber and such have become the special features of these branches.
