5 arrested for placing, accepting bets online

The crime branch Bhopal nabbed five miscreants involved in placing and accepting betting online from Habibganj area; accused use to gamble through US based fine booker website.

Acting on a tip off the accused three persons were nabbed from Habibanj area who were involved in operating an online gambling racket from the city.

The three accused were identified as Milan Gupta (38), Deepak Jairath (35) and Anand Mittal (38). The three confessed that the money of the members was deposited in SBI account in Karnal Haryana in the name of Rahul while Indrajeet Arora and Kulvinder Singh have provided training to operate the racket and they came to the city for providing the training and details of the online gambling.

They used to facilitate gambling on a gambling website and registration fee was charged initially to place their bets.

The initial registration was of Rs 3500 which was either cash or through online transfer and through different means it were converted to dollar and the registration was done for 50 $. After the registration was done an ID and password were provided to the user. The user would then be able to place bet on different matches online using the ID and password.  

The dollars obtained from betting were converted to bitcoin wallet and desired currency using different website.

During the investigation police found that the members would deposit money in SBI account in Karnal Haryana in the name of Rahul which was operated with the help of Kulvinder Singh.
