Chamoli dist on alert following heavy rainfall warning in next 24 hrs

In view of Met officials’ forecast of heavy rainfall in Chamoli district in the next 48 hours, Chamoli district magistrate Ashish Joshi has directed the district officers to be on alert. He directed the officers to be extra vigilant regarding the Char Dham Yatra routes. He also asked them to plunge into rescue and relief operation once a report of any rain-spawned problem to be received at the disaster control room. Earlier on Wednesday night, a home collapsed in the Gairsain area of the district following heavy rain though no loss of life is reported.
