Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society (CHiPS) is looking for a Master System Integrator to take over operations of Chhattisgarh State Data Centre (CGSDC) and also act as its technology partner in the transformation journey of CGSDC for the next five years, officials informed.
The State Data Centre scheme was planned to provide centralized delivery of services to reach the people in the urban and rural segments.
The Chhattisgarh State Data Centre provides the infrastructure required for consolidating the databases from the blocks and also for providing online services to citizens at villages and urban areas.
Chhattisgarh State Data Centre provides web services through which information is shared securely with other key organizations like financial institutions, legal bodies etc. Chhattisgarh State Data Centre is located centrally and connected to the remote block servers using the State Wide Area Network (SWAN) of the State.
CGSDC is the most important element of the core infrastructure for Hosting and supporting e-Governance initiatives of National e-Governance Plan (NeGP). Chhattisgarh State Data Centre (CG-SDC) was set up with Technical and Financial assistance provided by the Department of Information Technology (now MeitY), Govt. of India. The CGSDC was inaugurated on February 28, 2013 and is operational since then, officials informed.
M/s Sify Technologies Limited is the current Data Centre operator, officials informed.
The vision of the project is – “To be the preferred option for all ICT application hosting needs of Government and Public sector Departments / organizations in Chhattisgarh by providing flexible, on-demand managed services and thus simplifying IT infrastructure provisioning and operational efficiencies of the Governmentâ€, officials informed.
CHiPS has envisioned a transformation of the current CGSDC to a Hybrid Cloud Enabled Data Centre which would offer services to the end customers / line departments on Hosting, Co-location and Cloud chargeback model. The motive behind the vision is leveraging the properties of cloud operations that can proactively avoid performance issues and gain deep insights into the health, risk and efficiency of physical, virtual and cloud infrastructure, as well as operating systems and applications.
