Punia, Baghel discuss post poll strategy with AICC Chief

Chhattisgarh In-charge of All India Congress Committee (AICC) P.L. Punia and Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) Chief Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday evening reached state capital after chalking out post poll strategy in New Delhi with AICC Chief Rahul Gandhi.

Party sources informed that Punia would be stationed at the State Congress Office on on December 11 and would monitor the entire development during counting of votes.

Notably, an immediate action would have to be taken in case of hung assembly and if the party is short of the majority then support of regional parties as well as independent candidates would have to be sought. In such a case Punia would mediate between the state leadership and the high command and an appropriate decision would have to be taken, sources informed.  

Exit polls are predicting a close fight between the two main political parties. In such a situation in a bid to avoid any horse trading in such a situation the party is taking special precautions and have asked the candidates to reach state capital after getting the winning certificates from the respective returning officer.
