In yet another shameful incident reported this time from Pallahara in Angul district, a young girl was allegedly gangraped by her spurned lover and his two friends after she turned down his proposal for love relationship.
The prime accused identified as Kalia Mahakud was arrested by police following a complaint lodged by the victim’s family. The two other accused were still at large.
According to reports, Kalia, a carpenter, was in love with the girl in the past two to three years. After the girl later rejected his love, he along with his friends identified as Hemant Mahakud and Dushasan Sitari, who are auto drivers, forcibly took her from her house at 11.00 pm on October 30 and outraged her modesty in a secluded place near a hill.
