Picking up threads from the previous issue, it comes out that if we were to come out with our best, we need to rise above the preconditioning of mind caused by Karmic imprints carried over from the past. To go about it, one needs to self-reflect and become aware of inherent fault lines, acknowledge them, and then consciously address them through fresh educative inputs. Having thus freed our minds of its limitations, full landscape of mind with its wholesome powers becomes accessible. Different faculties of mind as detailed in the previous issue then begin to operate in a coordinated manner as a collective whole. Following this, the faculty of discriminate intelligence spontaneously comes into play for due diligence, before we take any call. Obviously, then, mind presents itself with its optimum best.
What follows thereafter is that one begins to look at issues in hand with an open mind and so, is able to see issues in hand in the right perspective due, and pick up the right lead. Also, one could monitor inherent thought trends and identify the negative and undesirable thought trends. Accordingly, one could redefine the thought process in a way that offers a sense of purpose and right direction to mind. One could also dispassionately evaluate the ‘Karmic promptings’ and consciously deny the ground needed by unwanted thought-seeds for raising their heads. And, opt for ‘what is worth’. Also, one will be able to put in qualitative efforts towards the task in hand in a focused way.
Preparatory to all that is to bring the monkey-like wandering mind in check. For, it does not allow the focus and space necessary to objectively attend to any fresh thought. It also stands in the way of indwelling potential from coming into full play. The irony, however, is that more often than not ahamkara identifies itself with indwelling tendencies, which makes it difficult to dispassionately monitor the thought trends for necessary correction. Here, astrology comes handy as an effective diagnostic tool. For, it is premised on study of energy construct of a being. And energy knows no bias.
But all said and done, even after becoming aware of our limitations, it is not easy to rise above them. For, habits die hard. Here comes the role of an enlightened Guru. For, they first put you face to face with your mirror image. They then lead you through meditative and other proven techniques to free yourself from the limitations of mind. Having thus prepared, they then help you unfold your full human potential so as to come out of your best. You then become a master of your own mind rather than playing second fiddle to its usual tendencies.
It may not be out of place to mention here that it is our choice option that binds us to cause-effect chain. But then it also enjoins upon us the capacity to discriminate upon and make such wilful choice as would undo the implications of unbecoming implication of the cause-effect chain. Also, conscientiously feed fresh educative inputs in mind, and lend it fresh direction. It implies that initiatives if any, taken as of now, could bear fruits during the present life itself. If you unmindfully fail to put to use your own empowerment, how can you put the blame on destiny for your failures?
Now to further loosen and untie the hardened knot of ignorance, a brief look into the energy dynamics of existence may come handy. Both modern science and Indian Philosophy agree on one count that energy streams excited by the Primordial-Source set into motion the creation chain that manifested into plural world with name and form. So, all existences in the mortal world, live or inert, are nothing but manifestation of nature driven energies.
The obvious implication is that when seen at subtle level, a being with a solid body framework remains nothing but a web of pulsating energy pattern. Mind and intelligence are again energy platforms at other levels. Even thoughts flowing through the mind are nothing but energy formations. And we know that energy cannot be destroyed but changes forms. Given our choice option, we could consciously give a fresh turn to thought energy. Say for instance, through recitation of mantra, which is essentially a set of syllables placed in a logical sequence to bring about a particular sound effect, which is again nothing but energy formation.
As the year closes, let us resolve to modify our Karmic tendencies, and set the terms of a better tomorrow.
