‘Shahar Sarkar-Aapke Dwar’ to be launched on Gandhi Jayanti

The ‘Shahar Sarkar-Aapke Dwar’ programme will be launched in the state from Gandhi Jayanti on October 2 to solve the problems of citizens in all cities. During the programme, the officials of Urban Development Department will reach the colonies to solve the problems of the people.

Urban Development and Housing Minister Jaivardhan Singh said this during a programme of distribution of Letters of Authority (LoA) to the beneficiaries of Mukhya Mantri Awas Mission (Urban) at Chakki Chauraha of Ward-31.

Singh said that all eligible people will be given residential land pattas and funds to build houses. He said that the Mukhya Mantri Awas Mission has been started in all cities. All the 378 urban body employees have also been given time-pay scales. While bhoomi-poojan of metro train in Indore has been performed the bhoomi poojan of metro train in Bhopal will be performed on September 26. He said that the government is continuously working for the development of cities.

We will prepare an action plan to complete the housing scheme within the time limit, he said, adding that 12,004 houses have been constructed in Bhopal under JNNURM scheme and 1204 houses in Rajiv Awas Yojana. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 51,694 houses have been sanctioned. Out of these, the construction process of 18 thousand 702 houses has been started.

Public Relations, Science and Technology Minister PC Sharma said that Bhopal city has to be made ‘Jhuggi Mukt-Awas Yukt’ city. He said that those living in slums will be given concrete houses. An integrated plan of sewage system for slum areas must be made. Sharma told officials that the employees residing in smart city should be allotted houses before asking them to vacate. He emphasized on not evicting anyone without making alternative arrangements. Sharma said that all eligible persons will get the benefit of housing scheme.

Municipal Chairman Surjeet Singh, Leader of the Opposition Mohd Sageer and former Municipal Chairman Kailash Mishra also expressed their views in the programme. Corporator Amit Sharma conducted the programme.

The guests distributed letters of authority to 15 beneficiaries. Total 126 letters of authority were distributed. Construction will be undertaken in 20 percent of total 342 acre land in smart city. The rest of the space will be developed as open green place.
