11 policemen, CSP injured as locals pelted stones

Eleven policemen including City Superintendent of Police (CSP) Habibganj Bhupendra Singh were injured after locals damaging under construction shop started stone pelting on the police force that went to stop the vandalism at railway colony Bharat Nagar under Shahpura police station area on Wednesday.

CSP Habibganj Bhupendra Singh sustained injuries after locals gathered to raze shops at Railway Colony Bharat Nagar stone pelted when police went to stop vandalizing and razing shops in the morning; Singh sustained multiple injuries in his lower part of the body in the attack while other police personnel escaped with injuries.

Addl SP Zone 2 Sanjay Sahu said that the land is owned by Railway Colony Shahkari Samiti and residents of 12 number EWS multi storey building have opposed construction of building on the land and claimed that land belongs to them. A temple is built adjacent to the shops built over the land and for the possession of land case was filed by residents of 12 number EWS multi storey building.

In the morning around 400 people of residents of 12 no. EWS multi storey building gathered and started to raze and damaged shop which are built on the land and when police were informed team was rushed to the spot but people damaging failed to stop the damage and stoned pelted on the police team injuring 11 policemen including CSP Habibganj, SHO Shahpura and two SI were injured.  In the morning KK Purohit, Ashish Purohit, Bhagwan Das and Tulsiram were injured by the accused. The shops are constructed by KK Purohit while among the main accused who organised the damaging of shops were identified as Manoj Rajput, Choteram Kushwaha and Sachin Babba. 

Police resorted to cane charging after CSP Singh and other policemen sustained injuries in stone pelting. The land ownership is with Railway Colony Shahkari Samiti and residents of 12 number EWS multi storey building has filed case in the court where it is pending.
