16-year-old youth drowned in Baah River

A 16-year-old youth drowned in Baah River on Tuesday; deceased and his cousin have gone to the river for taking bath during which deceased drowned, Berasia police have started investigation.

According to the police, in the afternoon the deceased identified as Ravi Jathav drowned while he had gone to Baah River at Khejda Parihar for taking bath.

The deceased was accompanied by his cousin Veer and his friends who tried to find the deceased but failed and informed locals who rushed to rescue deceased and fished out the body. Police said that the deceased was resident of Nai Basti Jathkhedi and had gone to his uncle’s house in Khejda Parihar.

The cousin of the deceased told the police that deceased jumped into the river to take bath but failed to come on the surface after which they searched for him but failed and later deceased drowned. The body was sent for the post mortem and a case under section 174 of the CrPC has been registered by the police. Police have started further investigation into the matter.

Meanwhile, a 22 day old baby girl died under suspicious circumstances at Shikhar Plaza under Bairagarh police station area in the night on Tuesday.

Police said that Navya Singh was declared dead after she failed to respond when her mother tried to feed her in the wee hours on Wednesday. Police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and started further investigation.
