Bailadila Iron Ore Mine (BIOM), Kirandul Complex of the NMDC Limited bagged several prizes during Mine Environment and Mineral Conservation Week 2018-19, Raipur region held recently at the state capital.
The prizes were presented to BIOM, Kirandul Complex in recognition to best practices and performance in the areas of environmental monitoring, sustainable development, systematic and scientific mining etc., according to a press release issued by the National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC).
A.K. Prajapati, General Manager, BIOM Kirandul Complex received the prizes from chief guest K Rajeshwar Rao, IAS, Addl. Secretary to Government of India and Controller General, IBM, Nagpur.
Following are the prizes bagged by BIOM Kirandul Complex: (i) Ist prize in overall performance under highly mechanised group-A1 to 14NMZ mines; (ii) Ist prize in sustainable development under highly mechanised group-A1 to 14NMZ mines; (iii) Ist prize in environmental monitoring under highly mechanised group-A1 to 14NMZ mines; (iv) Ist prize in systematic and scientific development under mechanised group-A2 to 11ML mines; (v) 2nd prize in publicity and propaganda under highly mechanised group-A1 to 14 ML mines; (vi) 2nd prize in mineral beneficiation under highly mechanised group-A1 to 14 ML mines and (vii) 2nd prize in environment monitoring under mechanised group-A2 to 11 ML mines.
N. Baijendra Kumar, IAS, CMD, NMDC congratulated employees for their unstinted efforts towards environment friendly initiatives adopted in all its mining activities.
