nRuling Congress party on Friday reacted sharply to the allegations leveled against it by former cabinet minister and BJP leader Amar Agrawal.

“The financial rights of public representatives (urban bodies) elected by people were snatched away by      previous Raman                  government. So, by what right is former minister Amar Agrawal is speaking about the financial freedom of civic bodies,” Congress spokesperson Dhananjay Singh Thakur said.

He charged that it was BJP government which had placed administrative        officers over public representatives to impede the works of public representatives. Despite objection from public representatives BJP started development works for corruption and commission.

People are liking the works done by current government headed by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and they are providing wider support to the current regime, he said. In the two by polls, voting for the Congress candidates, public rejected the BJP.

According to Thakur, in majority of the urban bodies Congress will have its      council. BJP will have to face defeat.
