A nine-year old boy was reportedly killed by a leopard at a village in the Kotdwar area on Sunday evening.
According to local sources, the boy was playing near his home in Devkundai village when he was reportedly killed by a leopard.
A woman had gone to milch her cow in the cowshed at about 6 PM on Sunday. The cowshed is located about 200 metres from her home. At this time, her nine-year old son Aniket was playing nearby was reportedly killed by a leopard.
Hearing the boy shout, the mother came out and started screaming, which caused the leopard to run away. The boy died on the spot.
Meanwhile, the district magistrate has directed the divisional forest officer to reach the village, set up a cage to trap the leopard and increase patrolling by department staff in the village.
