Cong stalled Ayodhya case in court: Shah

Friday, 22 November 2019 | Roshan Kumar/ Vinod Prasad | Ranchi / Lohardaga

BJP national president and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday brought up Ayodhya issue in poll-bound Jharkhand State accusing the Congress of stalling the case in Supreme Court. Shah, kicking-off election campaign for BJP in Manika (Latehar) and Lohardaga, said that everyone wants Ram temple in Ayodhya, but the Congress party continuously created obstacles on its way.

Shah said, “We wanted Ram Janmabhoomi issue to be sorted out through Constitutional process by decision of Court. But the Congress party every time wanted to delay the proceedings, as they even approached Supreme Court to stall the hearings.”

Invoking crowd at Manika, Shah said the Apex Court has now given the verdict in Ayodhya land dispute paving the way for construction of huge Rama temple at Ram Janmabhoomi. “With the grace of Lord Rama, the century old problem that was pending for long has been put to rest,” said Shah.

Shah flanked by Chief Minister Raghubar Das at two public meetings praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Modi ji has been resolving decades old pending disputes one-by-one. The BJP’s star campaigner said, “The credit for resolving Kashmir issue goes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he took up the guts to abrogate Article 370 and 35 (A) of Constitution which granted special status to Kashmir.” The BJP chief also blamed Congress party for allowing the Kashmir problem to continue for 70 years in its greed for vote banks.

Targeting Congress and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) for lack of development in State, Shah said the two parties which had ruled the state had never took interest for development of tribal State.

He also compared the budget allocated by the Congress and the BJP Government for State. Shah said, “The Sonia-Manmohan Government had given Rs 55,253 crore in the 13th finance commission, while in last five years the Narendra Modi Government has given Rs 3,08,487 crore for the development of the State.”

Praising Chief Minister Raghubar Das Government, Shah said in the leadership of Raghubar Das Government State has witnessed all round development with improvement in road, power, health and education, but the biggest credit for which Raghubar Das Government has to be given is for wiping out Left Wing Extremism menace in State.

He said, “Earlier, violence of Left Wing Extremism were regular features in State, but due to Chief Minister’s strong commitment against LWE menace, the Maoists’ violence has been checked.”

Manika and Lohardaga the two Assembly constituencies from where Shah kicked off BJP election campaign are LWE affected areas. Shah on the occasion also highlighted the developmental work carried out by State and Centre in Latehar and Lohardaga districts. In today’s public meet, apart from senior BJP leaders including BJP election in-charge Om Prakash Mathur, candidates from Manika (Raghupal Singh), Latehar (Prakash Ram), Lohardaga (Sukhdeo Bhagat), Gumla (Mishir Kujur), Bishunpur (Dr Ashok Oraon) were present.

In the first phase thirteen Assembly constituencies including Manika and Lohardaga are going to polls scheduled on November 30.
