The Supreme Court has granted bail to five accused, who were arrested and convicted in the murder case of Hindu seer Laxmanananda Saraswati in Kandhamal district. The   apex court in its judgement on Tuesday said, “Considering the fact that the accused-appellant(s) Munda Badamanjhi, Bhaskar Sanamajhi alias Sunamajhi,  Durjyadhan Sunamajhi alias Duryo, Sanatan Badamajhi and Budhadev Naik have already undergone ten years of their sentence as is the case of other accused directed to be released on bail.”

The court further said, “The appellant(s) should also be released on bail on such conditions as may be imposed by the Phulbani Additional Sessions Judge.”
