Grandpa looking after toddler who lost parents in road accident

A day after, a three-year-old boy, who lost his parents and grandmother after a sand-laden dumper overturned on their Audi car in Rohini, while they were returning home from a wedding in Gurgaon on Wednesday night, is being looked after by his grandfather and aunt.

The boy’s parents, Ruchi (27) and Sumit Singhal (29), and grandmother Reeta Singhal (65) were crushed to death but he had miraculous escaped and was trapped inside the car. His cries could be heard by the witnesses and the police. Subsequently, he lost consciousness but was rescued by fire department and disaster management teams.

“The boy was taken to a hospital. He had not suffered any external injuries, they got his medical examination done to rule out any internal injury. After the doctors declared that the boy did not suffer any internal injury, he was handed over to his grandfather,” said the senior police official.
