General Administration Department, Government of Chhattisgarh has issued a Gazette notification making local residents of district falling under Bastar and Sarguja revenue division, including Korba district, only eligible for vacant posts in various departments’ district cadre for class III and class IV category employees.
The notification stated that the eligibility of the local residents have been extended to three years period.
The GAD has issued separate letter to the district collectors’ of Kanker, Dantewada, Bastar, Narayanpur, Bijapur, Sukma, Kondagaon, Surguja, Jashpur, Koriya, Balrampur, Surajpur and Korba to take necessary action as per the notification.
The GAD on January 17, 2012 had issued the first notification stating that all the districts falling under Bastar and Surguja revenue division, will only recruit local residents for the class III and IV category against the vacancies in district cadre. The notification was extended time to time. Last time it was extended till December 31, 2018. The notification has been issued under the Fifth Schedule, state notified areas.
Korba district has been included in it.
