Local MLA Sushant Rout on Monday visited Veer Surendra Sai (VSS) Nagar and took stock of various problems in the locality.
Rout visited the subway constructed under NH 16 to link VSS Nagar to Saheed Nagar and expressed unhappiness over its ‘unmotorable’ condition.
Then, members of the VSS Nagar Unayan Parishad brought to his notice that streetlights were yet to be installed on the Rail over Bridge (RoB) connecting the VSS Nagar to Mancheswar Postal Colony even after three years of inauguration by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
The MLA paid floral tributes at the statue of freedom fighter Veer Surendra Sai here and listened to the longstanding demand of establishment of a life-size statue of Sai.
Rout, during his visit to the hospital at the Veera Surendra Sai (VSS) Nagar, marked that the every-day healthcare services were hit due to lack of equipments in the hospital.
Later, he attended a meeting of Parishad members where he was told about the regions’ demand of a good sewerage system, setting up a permanent VSS Nagar police outpost and availability of city buses. He assured that he would look into the matters soon.
