New Garhwa SP takes charge

A 2010 batch IPS officer, Ashwini Kumar Sinha, took charge as the new Superintendent of Police, Garhwa, on Wednesday. Sinha, who previously served as the SP Anti Corruption Bureau, Ranchi, assumed office as the SP of the district. He was given a warm welcome by fellow police personnel.

 Sinha said that police will deal strictly with extremists, criminals and anti-social elements. Maintaining law and order is the main duty of the police and the Garhwa police will remain committed to maintain it. On preparations of coming Assembly election he said that his predecessor SP told him that preparations for the election are going well and will be expedited as needed.

He said that not only the Superintendent of Police but also the DSP Circle Inspector and the Station In-charge phones will always be open to the public. They can contact anytime.

He expressed the hope that the public should inform the police of the extremist and criminals promptly. So that quick action can be taken on them, the name of those giving information will be kept secret.

He said that further action would be taken after studying the prevailing situation in the district. Caption:
