A probe was ordered on Tuesday after the family from Chaitadih alleged that their three new-born babies died due to medical negligence at the Chaitadih Maternity Hospital in Giridih.

While the hospital authorities have said that the death took place due to health problems rather than an accident, the family has alleged that it was the negligence by hospital staff including doctors and nurses that led to death of the all three babies.

Sources informed that on Tuesday, three new-born babies were admitted in Chaitadih Maternity hospital in Giridih after getting difficulty in breathing, where the all three newly born babies died few hours later. The babies were admitted at the neonatal intensive care unit of the hospital.

A mob on Tuesday then attacked doctors and nurses and also ransacked the hospital of the Chaitadih in Giridih after death of all three newly born babies at latter,s premises. All three babies were reportedly undergoing treatment for having some lung disease, when they succumbed.

On being informed of their deaths, angry family members attempted to attack the doctors, nurses and also vandalise, chairs table and wheelchairs at the hospital as well as overturning the desk.

According to the family members they have not done treatment properly and have been asking money always. It is complete medical negligence, they added.

A report in this regard has been sought by the Grievances cell, following which a five member inquiry committee headed by civil surgeon and, associate of paediatrics was constituted by the hospital.
