With the starting of the holy month of Sawan on July 17, there seems to be some good news for the residents of Jharkhand and respite from the heat and humidity is expected in the coming few days. With the prediction of rain in the next few days, the temperature is also likely to drop giving some relief from the humidity.
“In monsoon humidity will be prevalent. This occurs when it does not rain for a four to five days continuously and the temperature also remains high. Due to some dry spell, temperatures have also been on the higher side. With the southerly winds coming in the high temperature is causing discomfort and humidity. Rainfall activity is predicted in the coming days due to which the temperature will also drop and there will be some relief from the humidity as well,” said Senior Scientist, MET Observatory Centre- Ranchi, Dr. RS Sharma
According to the weather bulletin released by the Department on July 22, the maximum relative humidity in Ranchi and Chaibasa was 92 per cent where as the minimum was 58 and 59 per cent respectively. Jamshedpur and Daltonganj had 83 per cent maximum relative humidity whereas Bokaro had 68 per cent.
As per to the Meteorological Centre Ranchi, a rain bearing system is forming over the entire State and the conditions are likely to improve from July 22.
“With the system forming, there will be an increase in the rainfall activity. A continuous gradual improvement is expected in the coming few days bringing some respite. Around 25 per cent of Jharkhand is likely to receive rainfall,” Sharma further added.
The weather department is expecting light to moderate rain fall activity over many places in Jharkhand on July 23. Fairly wide spread rainfall covering most of the districts is expected from July 24 onwards. It has also issued a warning of isolated heavy rainfall accompanied with thunder storm activity in the north eastern parts of Jharkhand for July 27.
