The state health and family welfare department has terminated the services of 52 doctors who were absent from their duties for long. With removal of these doctors, decks have been cleared for recruitment of new doctors in the state health department. The department had recently asked these doctors who were not reporting on their duties for long, to resign. On Thursday, the department accepted their resignations. The doctors who have been removed belong to the cadre of PMHS recruited in the years 2003, 2004, 2012 and 2016. The Secretary medical health, Nitesh Jha said that doctors were absent from long time and since they were in system they were obstructing new recruitment in the department.
