The much-awaited bird's eye view of Delhi for the tourist from the viewing gallery of Signature Bridge, situated at the height of 165 metre twice the height, is likely to be thrown open for the public by the end of September of the current year. The Government is also planning to develop the bridge as an international tourist destination by developing biodiversity parks, amphitheatres, markets, river fronts, and other such developments on both banks of the Yamuna.

After missing two deadlines, the first phase of the signature bridge project will be completed with the opening of this viewing gallery.

The eight-lane signature bridge is the country's first asymmetrical cantilever spar cable-stayed bridge. The pylon of the bridge is the tallest structure in the national Capital after Qutub Minar. The bridge has been constructed on the Yamuna connecting Wazirabad to East Delhi was thrown open to the public in November 2018. The bridge was constructed by the Delhi Travel and Tourism Development Corporation (DTTDC).

As per the officials, the site lifts that were being used for the construction will be dismantled over the next few weeks to prepare the access to the Gallery for the public. "The viewing gallery will be constructed with the glass façade and it will be divided into three levels and will be equipped with two elevators that will carry people to the top of the pylon. About 50-60 people will be carried to see the birds view," said a Senior DTTDC official.

Further, the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal along with Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Delhi Chief Secretary Vijay Dev has recently visited and inspected the bridge.

During his visit to the bridge recently, the CM said, the Signature Bridge will be developed as the pride and lifeline of the city's tourism sector and directed the officials to ensure that commuters using the bridge face no inconvenience in both Phase I and II of the project. He has directed the Tourism department to beautify the access points to the Viewing Gallery, and provide adequate facilities for visitors like toilets, parking lots and others.
