Under the skill development programme, a workshop related to industry linkage - national apprenticeship promotion scheme and skill partner scheme was organised here on September 26-27.
The programme was attended by representatives of National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), industry partners, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) (State body) and reputed companies. During the workshop, efforts were made to make the second phase (2016- 2020) of PMKVY more effective and profitable. With the aim of strengthening the skill development programme, it was also decided that under The National Apprenticeship Programme Scheme (NAPS), the apprenticeship programme would be made mandatory in all the industrial units. Representatives were also given detailed information about the Skill Saathi programme to reach maximum beneficiaries on the basis of awareness, aptitude and ability. With the Skill Saathi Tools, participants were also counseled about creating awareness.
The representatives were also informed that programmes like NAPS can prove to be very beneficial for a state like Jharkhand.
The State has always been the first choice of industrial units and with the changing times, foundation of new industrial units has also been laid here. In this situation, the apprenticeship programme in industrial units can provide skilled training to the youth of the State especially those from the Project Area Effected which will also increase the productivity of the industries.
Skill Saathi has emerged as a new tool under the skill development programme for creating awareness.
Through this tool the problem of students dropping out can also be solved and emphasis is given on the prior knowledge of the skilled trainers.
Mission Director Jharkhand Skill Development Mission Society Kripa Nand Jha urged the participants to provide their optimum support to the industry link apprenticeship programme. He said that it is a priority of the society to implement the apprenticeship act.
Chief Executive Officer Amar Jha shared the achievements of the mission with the participants. He said that with the help of partner institutions, skill development needs to be given a new form and also suggested that as per the current scenario of industries, skill development should be given a new curriculum.
