Given the situation in the country in the backdrop of coronavirus pandemic, the Indian Army has postponed its bi-annual Commanders’ Conference to be held for three days here starting April 16. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Army Chief General M M Naravane were scheduled to address the top echelon on various issues of strategic importance.
The conclave was slated to review operational preparedness to deal with any situation on the western border facing Pakistan and the northern border facing China. The conclave was also likely to take stock of the capabilities to fight a two-front war simultaneously with Pakistan and China, sources said here on Wednesday, April 8, 2020
Besides, the conference was to review the situation in Jammu & Kashmir with special focus on anticipated rise in infiltration bids from across the 750-km long Line of Control(LOC) in the coming months. Moreover, the commanders were supposed to review the situation post abrogation of Article 370 giving special status to the State.
