Independent MP from Amravati Navneet Kaur-Rana, who was tested positive for Covid-19 on August 6, was rushed to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital on Thursday evening after her condition deteriorated in Nagpur’s Wockhardt Hospital. Navneet, who along with son, daughter, husband and seven other other family members had on Thursday last tested positive for Coronavirus, had been admitted to Wockhardt Hospital on Wednesday, developed breathing problems, prompting the family members to rush her to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital Confirming this, Navneet’s husband Ravi Rana — who is also being treated for Covid-19, said his wife was being taken to Mumbai by road.
“We could not fly her to Mumbai. That’s why we are taking her to Mumbai by road,” Rana said. An erstwhile Telugu film actress-turned Navneet is an Independent MP from Amravati Lok Sabha (SC reserved) constituency in eastern Maharashtra.
Her husband Rana is independent legislator from Badnera assembly segment in Amravati district.
On August 6, Navneet had herself announced she, her daughter, son and other family members had tested positive for Covid-19. In all 12 members of her family have tested positive for Covid-19.
“Both my daughter and son, and other family (members) have become Corona infected, it was my first duty to take care of them as a mother. I am also infected with Corona while taking care of children and other family members,” she had tweeted, while urging all those who come in contact with her to get their Covid-19 tests done.
All her family members are currently under isolation and treatment.
