Those arrested were identified as Chhote Dewangan (53) of Bilaspur city and Gaurav Sabarwal (37), Mahendra Dewangan (37) and Mohammad Raees (24), all from Janjgir-Champa district.

Police seized 10 mobile phones, a laptop and a car (CG-11, 8293).

In another racket, the police arrested three persons, identified as Ritesh Govindani (26), Jitendra Premchandani (23) and Jagjeet Singh (22), all residents of Gudhiyari locality in Raipur.

Police seized nine mobile phones, a laptop, a car (CG-04, 5554) and betting records of Rs 10 crore.

The police conducted the raid on Wednesday night after getting a tip about the betting racket inside moving cars in the capital city on the match played between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders, the officer added.

The arrested men said they were operating the betting racket inside cars as they did not get a room in any hotel or any other safe place due to the lockdown, Yadav said.
