Covid pandemic taught us to help each other: Archbishop

Dr Leo Cornelio, the Archbishop of Bhopal said that the present Covid-19 pandemic is a common problem to be faced by everyone irrespective of any caste, creed or religion.

The Archbishop said that the unexpected pandemic brought totally different mindsets, lifestyles and attitudes of the people for a new world order where the importance of God, and people are stressed in depth and not more on materialistic worlds. He also said that this Virus is teaching the people of our country many things. In the past we tend to differentiate people based on caste, creed and religion. But the Covid-19 brought unity in diversity and to look after each others needs besides recognizing the worth of human life.  This pandemic has given a new direction in the field of social, academic and spiritual sectors and made every one to face the crisis as one family, he added. Our country must rise against the forces that divide us.

“Uniformity divides us while diversity unites us and every human being has positive forces to promote unity. Therefore every human being should improvise the positive characteristics that make them glow in the society he said.

Children should be always taught good values that will help them to be the good citizens of tomorrow. “ he added.

It should be noted that the church has always been promoting equality and human dignity in the society besides uplifting the values of Indian constitution by siding with the poor, marginalized, children, youth and the needy. The kingdom of God is to establish justice in all the spares of life, he said.
