Education Min gifts cars to JAC board toppers

State Education Minister Jagarnath Mahto today felicitated matriculation and over all intermediate toppers. At a function held on the State Assembly premises, the education minister alongwith Assembly Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahto handed over keys of Alto car to Manish Kumar the matriculation topper and Amit Kumar the overall intermediate topper.

The education minister on the occasion said that from next year he will adopt state toppers and will bear all the educational expenses of toppers. Mahto, who enrolled in class 11 at a government affiliated inter-college under his Assembly constituency of Dumri last month, had said that there is no age limit to learning and education.

The Minister today, after handing over the keys to meritorious students, said that from next year he too will be one of the candidates for prize money. He said, "Now I am a student of intermediate, from next year I too aspire to become topper in intermediate examination."

He further said that from next year prize money will be given to meritorious students so that students utilize money for their higher education. He also said that he will adopt topper students next year bearing educational expenses of toppers.

He further said that for the past 15 years he has been felicitating students giving away laptops to students on the occasion of Binod Bihari Mahto’s birth anniversary. He said earlier it was planned to felicitate toppers from his intermediate College, but later it is decided to felicitate toppers from the entire State.

Assembly speaker Rabindra Nath Mahto, also present on the occasion, appreciated students and expressed well wishes to students. The Speaker said, "Students can shape their carrier in becoming engineers, doctors, lawyers, scientists but apart from shaping carrier students should inculcate moral values."

The Speaker on the occasion asked the education minister and teachers to include moral values in school curriculum.  The topper students present on the occasion also talked about their career.

Matriculation topper Manish Kumar said," I have taken admission in science stream and now aspire to become an administrative officer." In his message and best wishes to class 10 students, he asked students to follow syllabus. Intermediate topper Amit Kumar said that after intermediate he is preparing for engineering entrance test.
